If paired with the Rear Seat Back Protector (Part# 08U43-TLA-100A) , the Cargo Tray fits snug as a bug.
The prior gaps are taken up by the seat back protector assembly.
Evidently, the Tray & Seat Protectors are meant to be paired as well-fit installation.
I happened to buy both & was pleasantly surprised by the final install on my Hybrid EX.

It is very loose and can move around back and forth for about 2 inches. The reserve side of the cargo try is smooth and made of hard plastic so it slips every time when I put something in the trunk. It isn't secured to the carpet bottom of cargo area. I bought another cargo tray for my 2013 Honda CRV and it fits perfectly. It is made of rubber instead of plastic.

It is loose and slips around about 2 inches when putting things on it. The back side is smooth and doesn't have rubber nibs to keep it from moving around. Other than that the quality is good.

It is very loose, especially on the right side, and can move around back and forth for about 2 inches. Also, the under side is smooth, so it slips every time I put something in the trunk and isn't secured to the carpet bottom of cargo area.
